The 2001 AEJP conference at Fairfield University brought together 45 people from Jesuit publications across the United States.
The conference included workshops on digital photography, picture editing, and proofreading. Margaret O'Brien Steinfels, editor of Commonweal magazine, and Peter Steinfels, religion columnist for the New York Times, spoke on their experiences as writers and editors, and Fr. Tom Reese, SJ, editor of America magazine, led a panel discussion about putting publications on the web.
Participants also enjoyed a clambake and a banquet, which featured Danielle Vella, Information Officer for the Jesuit Refugee Service in Rome, as the after-dinner speaker.
